About FUSION POWER WORLD
Fusion power is a form of power generation that produces electricity by using heat from nuclear fusion reactions.
Unlike nuclear fission, which is currently used in operational nuclear power plants, fusion power is considered safer and more sustainable because it produces little radioactive waste, and its raw materials can be obtained from seawater.
It is expected to be a key energy source in the future.
Since Canon Electron Tubes & Devices Co., Ltd. started sales of Japan's first X-ray tubes in 1915, we have continued to provide high-quality and reliable cutting-edge electron tubes and devices to meet the needs of society. With the goal of contributing to health and society, we develop and provide key components for systems incorporating X-ray tubes, such as clinical diagnostic systems and inspection systems for food and electronic parts, as well as systems used in high-energy research.
Kyoto Fusioneering, founded in 2019, is an R&D-driven advanced fusion energy plant engineering solutions company. We strive to deliver fusion's promise by leveraging critical-path technologies underpinned by domain expertise in fusion engineering.
We aim to commercialize the world's first steady-state fusion reactor with “helical stellarator” by 2034, based on the strength of the knowledge inherited from the National Institute for Fusion Science.
Superconducting magnet technology is necessary for high performance plasma in fusion reactors. In this exhibition, you can see a model of one of our core technologies, the high-temperature superconductor. It is characterized by its ease of bending and fabricability, and contributes to the manufacturing of coils with complex shapes like spirals.
Yamato Gokin was founded in 1941 in Itabashi, Tokyo. The company manufactures (melting, plasticising, quality inspection, machining and shipping) plates, rods and discs of special copper alloys such as chrome copper, beryllium copper, and special aluminium bronze.
We produce more than 100 types of copper alloys, including small quantities for specific customers, to meet their needs. Our copper alloys are used in automobiles, aeroplanes, semiconductors and, in future technology, in fusion energy reactors.
EX-Fusion is a startup that aims to realize sustainable and clean energy through laser fusion technology. We develop laser fusion reactors and their components. We are also working on industrial applications such as laser processing, optical equipment sales, and seawater desalination using derived technologies.

Our company is a fusion energy startup certified by the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST). With the vision of 'contributing to the social realization of fusion energy through stably securing of beryllium,' we aim to produce beryllium, which will be required in large quantities as a neutron multiplier. We have been selected for the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)'s SBIR grant and J-Startup TOHOKU.

National Institute for Fusion Science conducts research in Plasma physics, Quantum process and Comprehensive Engineering. Recently, we have been implementing research and development that combines Hydrogen energy and Fusion technology in order to contribute to Carbon neutral. In this exhibition, we will be showcasing our latest activities including Hydrogen activity.

We are exhibiting custom-made electrical connectors with specifications that cannot be designed by other companies. We have supplied to nuclear fusion-related research lab and company and start-up companies both in Japan and overseas.
In the 1960s, Furukawa Electric began research and development of metal-based superconducting wires (low-temperature superconductors; LTS) and has contributed to projects such as ITER and JT60 through the use of LTS wires. When copper oxide superconductors (high-temperature superconductors; HTS) were discovered in 1986, we also advanced the technological development of HTS wires, and today, our technology is among the best in the world. We continue to contribute to fusion technology by participating in domestic and international projects, including collaborating with Tokamak Energy in the UK.
